How many zoysia plugs do I need?
You need enough plugs to put either 1 plug per square foot or 2 plugs per square foot. First, estimate your square footage. As an example, consider a yard 20 feet by 50 feet. That’s 1000 square feet. Placing the plugs at one per square foot you would need 1000 plugs and you would have a filled-in lawn in 2 growing seasons. Placing the plugs at two per square foot you would need 2000 plugs and you would have a filled-in lawn in 1 growing seasons. In more southern areas fill-in may be quicker. In more northern areas you may want to consider two plugs per square foot only, due to fairly short growing seasons.
