Does USRP pay travel expenses?
USRP reimburses accepted interns for travel cost on a conditional basis. Students have two choices when traveling to the NASA center, they may drive a personal vehicle or fly. If the option to fly is chosen, airfare must be coordinated through the USRP travel agent at least 21 days prior to departure. There will be no airline reimbursements made for self-booked flights. These tickets are not changeable and nonrefundable once they are booked. Interns choosing to drive to the NASA Center will be reimbursed $.585 per mile up to the cost of a 21-day advance airfare ticket as quoted by the USRP travel agent. Hotel, meals, etc. are not reimbursable. Mileage reimbursement will occur after the intern has arrived at his/her NASA Center and upon receipt of the completed required USRP travel forms.
