What is a Thursday Folder?
It is a folder that I send home each week (on Thursday) starting the 2nd or 3rd week of school. It contains the previous week’s classwork and homework. My students have about 30 minutes in class (on Wednesday mornings) to review their grades and my notes to them. They also are to take the time to correct some of their errors and ask me questions about what I have written. When my students bring home their Thursday folder, I ask them to take time before Monday morning to review the work with an adult at home, ask the adult to sign the outside, and perhaps improve any work that they would like to improve. (Highlights are usually a good hint that it SHOULD be improved). I do not ask for any of the work returned, EXCEPT the work they have improved AT HOME.
