Why work in afterschool programs?
Afterschool jobs allow you to use your creativity and experience to provide valuable enrichment activities, reinforce ideas and concepts learned in the classroom, and build meaningful relationships with youth. California has exponentially increased funding for afterschool programming doubling the amount of afterschool programs throughout the state. Because of this increase, programs are constantly seeking experienced, qualified workers to fill instructor positions. As an afterschool instructor, a teaching degree is not required, and opportunities are made available for professional development and growth within the field.
