1st semester 2nd semesterFrench 2 French1French 2 French 1French 4 French 3This would represent my schedule if our school were to go to blockscheduling. The seniors would have their French 4 class the first year, during the first semester (for transcript purposes), the French 2’swould have continuity. (from French 1 the first year) In fact everyonewould have no articulation problems except for one class of French 3’s.After the first year, everyone would have continuity.Students could enter a foreign language pattern as Freshman, Sophomoresor Juniors, knowing they could still complete a four-year sequence. (Ofcourse, some of them might have scheduling conflicts like they do now)but not any more than they do now if your school is committed toeveryone being in a 90 min block mode.) This same school should schedulemath sequences in a similar manner, although, except for algebra, Idon’t know if math is of necessity as “lock step” as we are.Hope this scheduling idea is helpful.Madeline Bishop
