What does the Royal Warrant mean?
It means the BEST. That’s the short answer. The long answer means the same thing but it’s a bit more interesting. Once upon a time, Kings and Queens realized being the Head of State and the richest person in all the land, had its perks. They could demand the best of everything and so they did just that. Only persons who could provide products and skills of exemplary quality were allowed to do business with the Royal household. If the product was found to be of the caliber suitable for use by the King or Queen, and the Monarch in question so chose to acknowledge this achievement, then a Royal Warrant could be granted. And, if your goods were good enough for the kingdom’s rulers then they were obviously the best and the rest of the nobles and aristocracy made tracks, post-haste to your door. The earliest recorded Royal Charter was granted by Henry II to the Weavers’ Company in 1155 and since then only the finest quality products have been associated with the Royal Family. To be eligible
