What is a tank heater?
A tank heater is simply a heating element inserted inside a tank for the purpose of heating the liquid contained inside that tank. Armstrong tank heaters consist of 3 main components: • a tube bundle (sometimes called a nest of tubes) specially designed for that purpose, • a tank collar for proper positioning • insertion of the bundle. This collar is shipped separately to the tank manufacturing for welding to the tank, and a head to allow for the entrance of the heating medium through the tubes. The tank itself acts as the shell. Materials of construction are carefully selected to suit the application.
