Will Dan Brown release a sequel to the Da Vinci Code?
Six years after the publishing phenomenon that was The Da Vinci Code hit bookshelves, Brown and his publishers today announced that its follow-up, The Lost Symbol, will finally be released Sept. 15. The book, which had the working title The Solomon Key, will follow the ever-troubled symbologist Robert Langdon (and presumably coming to a theater near you in a couple years, Tom Hanks) during an action-packed 12-hour period. Further details of the book are being kept under wraps, though Brown’s publisher said the action will be set in a “masterful and unexpected new landscape.” “This novel has been a strange and wonderful journey,” Brown said. “Weaving five years of research into the story’s 12-hour timeframe was an exhilarating challenge. Robert Langdon’s life clearly moves a lot faster than mine.” Doubleday will publish the book with an initial print run of 5 million copies, the largest ever in Random House’s history. Sources:
