What is the difference between the Regional Operations and Community Development Branch, the Sport and Recreation Branch and Sport NB?
The Regional Operations and Community Development Branch helps to provide leadership and support to those organizations at a local and regional level. The branch works in partnership with such organizations as municipalities, local service districts and regional networks. The Sport and Recreation Branch provides consultation and support to those organizations with a provincial scope in nature and also works in partnership with the Federal government to introduce national initiatives and negotiate bilateral agreements on behalf of New Brunswick. Sport New Brunswick is a non-profit bilingual federation that counts provincial sport and affiliates as members. Sport NB advocates sport for all, from the grassroots level to high performance, and provide programs and services for members. A portion of its funding is from the Department of Wellness, Culture and Sport.
