How safe is the Roadster?
Our design engineers have calculated that the American Roadster is very safe. In a similar design, the vehicle could not be rolled in curves at high speeds. It just skidded sideways. Pat Blair has been responsible for design and safety of the Roadster. He is a NASCAR race car designer, and is working with our manufacturing/production team. Pat designed the Roadster frame, steering and suspension to NASCAR safety and performance standards and designed the Roadster to be driven safely at speeds up to 200 miles per hour (almost twice the maximum speed of our production vehicle’s capabilities). The driver and rear seat passengers have the standard shoulder and lap seat belts as in all conventional vehicles. Additionally, air bags will be available optional equipment should the buyer opt to purchase these.
