How are the trees planted?
At the beginning, the trees are planted in nurseries until they are ready to be planted in the desert. Once planted in the desert, they receive care and maintenance from local experts. No chemical fertilizers are used. Local population can harvest and benefit from the produce of the trees. When trees are mature and cannot capture any more CO2, they are turned into durable material (e.g. to build houses, furniture, etc).
