How strong is an adult AM?
Unbelievably strong. Off the charts strong. An adults bite is estimated at being in EXCESS of 300 psi (pound-force per square inch). By contrast, a standard, completely filled automobile tire is just 32 psi. With an adult AMs head being larger than an adult humans head, you can see that an AMs bite would cover a whole lot of inches! You know those unbreakable dog toys? An AM will break them. Even an NFL offensive tackle wouldnt be able to walk an adult AM who refuses to cooperate. The raw power of these animals is simply incomparable to that of most other household pets. Fortunately, because of their docile nature, men and women of all ages as well as children can and do successfully train and control these dogs. But the immense size and near-supernatural strength of AMs is something one should take into consideration when choosing a breed. An elderly, infirmed woman who lives all alone and has never trained a large dog would be a poor fit for an AM.
