We first identified anomalous activity on Tuesday, March 27th and we are currently in the process of forensically assessing the computer to determine the full scope, nature and duration of any and all unauthorized activity. If any specific access is identified we will immediately inform those individuals. Do the address and phone numbers exposed correspond to what is in the person’s payroll file? Yes. The employee address and phone numbers in the data corresponds to information on the payroll file. What period of time was covered by the data on the server? While we have no specific evidence of any data being accessed or acquired, there were data files on this computer that cover individuals who were employees or students from 2004 to the present. If you have not been on the UCSF payroll or a UCSF student since 2004, you can disregard the notification related to this incident.
