How do Armies work?

0

Armies fight other armies. If two armies meet in a province, there will be a battle. I will work out the results of the battle and let you know; a number of factors will contribute to the end result, including the support of other armies. You may always ask me for an estimate of your chances before moving an army or engaging an army. The losing army is pushed back out of the province, if it has any empty neighboring provinces to fall back on. If it has nowhere to go, it is destroyed. If you successfully occupy a province, it is yours by conquest even if there are no armies in it, until somebody else sends an army in. If nobody sends an army in to reclaim it over the space of some years, it becomes home territory’. See “Detailed Army Example”, below, for more information.
