What Does the TSC Offer?
The TSC concept supports our national military strategy of power projection. The TSC is modular in design and capable of rapid deployment to a theater of operations. The modular design minimizes strategic lift requirements by deploying the minimum structure needed to accomplish the mission successfully, thereby ensuring a logistics presence during the critical buildup phase of operations. The Persian Gulf War taught us the importance of establishing a theater-level logistics plan early in a deployment and keeping ports open to receive materiel from the strategic-level sustainment base. The TSC element responsible for establishing the intheater infrastructure and conducting reception, staging, onward movement, and integration (RSOI) operations is the theater force opening package (TFOP). A typical TFOP early entry module (EEM) needed during the initial buildup phase includes transportation, medical, engineer, supply, contracting, and medical modules, as well as strategic logistics cells
