What is harm reduction?
The best definition of the philosophy of harm reduction can be found on the national DanceSafe website right here. We believe there are certain recreational activities within the club and rave communities that people will continue to engage in, regardless of what others tell them to think or do. These activities (such as illegal and legal drug use, sexual activities, listening to loud music, staying up all night…) make it statistically more likely that the person will be subject to some sort of bodily harm… whether it’s lung cancer from smoking cigarettes, an STD from having unprotected sex, an illegal (or legal) drug overdose, succumbing to the heat of an overpacked venue, or driving home after being awake for 48 hours straight. Harm reduction is about knowledge.
