What is Time Capsule?
It’s not just your basic external drive anymore, kids. It’s a wireless powerhouse that works directly with the Time Machine application to wirelessly back up your entire computer. That’s right, no confusion, no wiring things, no figuring out what to save and what not to. You set the Time Capsule as the default back up device for Time Machine, and you’re done. It also knows to only download files that have changed in any manner, so you’re not reinventing the wheel for things that have remained unchanged. Will it have enough room? Unless you are trying to back up more than 1TB (terabytes) of information (and if you do, that’s just crazy!) you’ll have plenty of room. Time Capsule comes in two versions, one with 500GB (gigabytes) and one with a whopping 1TB’s worth of save space. So why’s it so revolutionary, again? Time Capsule pulls double duty as a wireless Airport Extreme Base Station, using the 802.11n specification so it can back up your computer via a wireless connection while doubl
