Horses orginally came from Spain. They were brought to America by the Spanish explorers. When a horse got loose it became wild and was either caught by a Native American and tamed, or it became part of a herd. The Native Americans began breeding, like the Nez Pierce. Other than that, it’s not really known where horses orginated.
