What combat/self defense?
Shoopy21 obviously you have bad training if a self defnese situation lasts 5 minutes. in real life if a seld defense situation lasts more then 10-15 seconds you did something wrong. As for the MMA nut grabber, she has it partially right, however she is very wrong about one thing. MMA’s is no more or less effective for self defense then a single art if that art is traind well. MMA’s do tend to get you to where you can practicly use it quicker then traditional styles, because of the training methods, and the fact they take the tradition and kata out of the picture. They are not better or worse, just different. If you are in a hurry, I would suggest Judo, Muay Thai, BJJ, and avoid most karate styles, TKD, and most Kung Fu styles, as they generally take longer to learn, and use effectivly.
