I am very concerned about my childs self esteem, how will Montessori help my child have a healthy attitude?
Confusing talk of self esteem has entered the buzz of childhood and one I feel parents ask me about at some point. In my opinion self esteem or self confidence comes from the feeling of capability. Children and adults that feel they can do anything, or figure out how to do anything, are unstoppable by the world they have to navigate to reach maturity. The most common statement made to me is I wish that I went to Montessori School when I was young.I realize that this is not a question but felt that this was such a universal statement when parents see the children 18 months and older happy, focused, and independent. This coupled with the amazing beautiful and well thought out materials produces a universal gut reaction and the statement, I wish I went to Montessori school when I was young.School tours are ok, but we shine when you take the time to sit, be a fly on the wall and observe. You owe it to yourself and your child to take the time to sit and see it unfold.
