Horoscopes go by a person’s sun sign only (Leo, Scorpio, Aries, Pisces, etc.), but a natal chart has many different planetary placements (moon, mercury, venus, and so on), which all stand for different aspects of your personality and life. People look at the movement of the planets on the day they write the horoscopes and consider the effect they might be having on an entire sun sign.
