Why doesn my Original SafetyTat stick well to my childs skin?
We have found that if this occurs, it may be caused by one of two things: your child has sunscreen or lotion on his or her skin that must be removed prior to application. Too slippery! Please avoid using sunscreen on or near your SafetyTat, as many brands will break down the adhesive. Secondly, and perhaps the most important step in the application of your SafetyTat, is to let the SafetyTat “set” to your (child’s) skin before saturating with WARM water. To do this, please, after removing the clear top layer, place on your child’s skin with your hand on top of it and let your body heat help set the adhesive to the skin for about 60 seconds (It’s a great time to sing ABC’s or talk about the purpose of his/her SafetyTat!) IMPORTANT: please be sure your SafetyTat is completely dry (this could take several minutes) before touching, rubbing or coming in contact with clothing (or sheets/blankets).
