What is a stand-alone system ?
A stand-alone filtering system is a complete filtering solution provided by a single vendor. These filters block sites based on criteria provided by the software vendor, thus “locking in” users. If a customer does not like the vendor’s selection of sites that are to be blocked, she must switch to a different software product.
