Visitors to ChangingThePresent.org make donations to ImportantGifts, Inc., a nonprofit organization qualified by the Internal Revenue Service as a §501(c)(3) tax-exempt entity. Donors may recommend that ImportantGifts grant that money to a specific nonprofit organization listed on the website. For donations on ChangingThePresent.org, ImportantGifts passes through to the receiving nonprofit the full amount of the donation, less a transaction fee (3% plus 30 cents), primarily to cover the cost of processing the credit card donations. For donations made on the ChangingThePresent facebook™ app, ImportantGifts deducts 10 cents per gift in addition to the transaction fee (3% plus 30 cents). ImportantGifts is a nonprofit, so is not trying to make money, but it does need to cover its costs of staff and hosting. Please see the User Agreement for details.
