Why do seagulls hang around parking lots?

0

They hang around parking lots, especially in rough weather. If the sea is too rough, they go inland for a while. But if they can get food, they will show up. There are always a few gulls at the school near me, around lunch time! And it’s about 20 miles from the ocean. 20 miles is not much to a sea gull though; they often travel MUCH farther on their daily commute. Near where I live, there is an Island out to sea where they like to live and have their babies, because it is safe there. They fly to shore and steal people’s leftovers and even their picnic lunches, swallow them into their crops, and go back to the island (where there’s little to eat) to feed the chicks.
