Why would I use SpatialCloud for my 2D/3D mapping applications instead of ESRI based products?
ESRI products are full featured GIS applications which do a great job at their intended tasks. However, they are proprietary systems limiting developers in how they can utilize the interface, ESRI’s proprietary data streams, and incorporate outside data. They’re generally designed for high-end GIS professional use, so they require costly software purchase and additional yearly maintenance fees. SpatialCloud addresses these issues by 1) making available a total open and customizable pTolemy3D and 2) lowering costs via affordable SpatialCloud services.
