Does the Stylus 600 support a Super Macro mode?
Yes. The Stylus 600s Super Macro mode has an operating range of 3.2 to 23.6. This means that the camera must be between 3.2 and 23.6 from the subject in order for the picture to be in focus. The zoom is fixed while in Super Macro mode and cannot be changed. To use Super Macro mode, set the shooting mode to Program Auto. Press the Macro mode icon (flower) on the arrow pad; this is the same action as pressing the Left arrow. The current status of the Macro setting will be displayed in a yellow box on the LCD monitor. The value will either be OFF, Macro (flower icon) or Super Macro (flower icon beside the letter “s”). Press the Macro mode icon (left arrow) repeatedly until the Super Macro icon is displayed in the yellow box. After a moment, the box will vanish, indicating that the setting is active. The Super Macro icon will appear in white along the left-hand side of the LCD monitor; it will remain on the LCD for as long as Super Macro mode is in effect.
