What is Ascension Health and ISD doing?
Ascension Health has formed a HIPAA Readiness Task Force, chaired by Steve Gillen and comprised of leadership from the System Office and local entities. The Task Force is actively meeting and has provided HIPAA readiness guidance for the system. In addition, a HIPAA coordinator has been assigned (Don Stry), who has been developing this HIPAA information web site and supporting the HIPAA Task Force. Meanwhile, the Information Services Division (ISD) been busy. They are doing the following: a. assigned an ISD HIPAA project manager (Carline Dalgleish), b. formed an ISD HIPAA project team, c. developed a role document, assigning responsibilities within ISD for HIPAA readiness, d. developed an high-level HIPAA readiness plan, e. working with vendors and consultants to learn more, f. attending teleconferences and seminars, g. contracted with SAIC for a high-level HIPAA assessment of ISD, h. developed and are implementing a HIPAA project plan, i. facilitated the establishment of the SAIC web-
