What is Private Medical Insurance (PMI)?
Private Medical Insurance insures you against the costs of private medical treatment for curable short-term conditions, known as ‘acute’ conditions. In other words a condition which has a beginning, a middle and an end. Treatment could include surgery, specialist consultants, accommodation and care at a private hospital. The contract lasts for a year, just like motor or household insurance and you can renew each year.
