EDI Addresses are IDs similar to E-Mail addresses that are associated with a single EDI mailbox. They are generally composed of an interchange format, a qualifier (optional for some EDI standards), and an ID. In the example: ISA,U,00403 / 12 / 3019876543 ISA,U,00403 is the interchange format ISA is the Interchange Start Segment Identifier, U is the standard (U=ANSI ASC X12), and 00403 is the version of the ISA envelope structure 12 is the qualifier 3019876543 is the user’s ID If ANY is used instead of a specific interchange format, then the address is good for nearly all interchange formats supported by EDI*EXPRESS. With an ANY format, you and your trading partner can upgrade to newer versions of your document’s interchange format without having to setup additional trading partnerships.
