How will TRCS save us time?
TRCS will save time during the crash report creation process. TraCS has a temporary database that will hold specific information about the driver (name, address, and phone) once it is entered. For example, when entering the driver and owner information, if the owner is the driver, the data can be easily transferred from the driver to the owner section. This saves time from reentering similar data. TRCS also offers online search capability to gather information about the driver using the driver license number, or vehicle using the VIN or plate number. The most current data residing in the centralized location will populate within the TraCS form, facilitating data entry for the officer creating the crash report. Submitting the crash electronically is efficient. The crash report is created and validated on the officer’s machine, accepted on a supervisor’s machine, and then submitted to DMV for processing.
