What is site remediation?
Site remediation involves the removal of organic or inorganic contaminates from soil and/or ground water. JMB has conducted many projects dealing with the removal of petroleum hydrocarbon contaminates in soil using oil-consuming micro-organisms. Remediation activities are normally conducted over a period of months with the aim of reducing soil contamination to levels which meet the British Columbia Contaminated Sites Regulation (includes amendments up to BC Reg. 239/2007). Some of JMB Research’s site remediation projects are: • Remediation of petroleum contaminated sites in the Salmo-Creston area. • A major hydrocarbon remediation project in Alert Bay, Vancouver Island • Several Phase II tank-pull operations in the Greater Vancouver area dealing with the removal of above ground and underground storage tanks and subsequent removal of contaminated soils. JMB Research Ltd. will similarly conduct remediation activities as requested from any location in the Province of British Columbia.
