Sheri, I woud recommend not signing your work until after you copy it. Many copy centers will not copy photos or art with a logo or signture on it. Also, the water may blur your signature. A Larger copy center should have the equipment to copy your paintings on the paper of your choice. They will also be able to advise you how the prints will react to embellishments. If you embellish in watercolor, the prints may run unless you use them from a tube without water to blend. There are aerosol fixatives you may want to check out at an art store. These may be an intermediate step to maintain the copy while you add to it. This is a wonderful gift idea! Best of luck.
