What are “By-Products” in Pet Food?

0

A by-product, is simply, anything OTHER than meat. If you are trying to feed your pets a more healthy diet, you do not want any of the main ingredients of your pets’ food listed as “chicken by-products,” “lamb by-products,” or “any by-product meal. By-products could include just about anything. “Beaks and feet” are what many consider to be by-products, but they can include just about anything. I tend to try to avoid by-products in my pets’ food, but in some cases, I do recommend some foods that have by-products that are specified as “organs only'” which I personally don’t have a problem with, but understand if you choose not to feed them.
