All Hindi people are vegetarian?

Hindi is not synonymous with Hinduism.  Hindi is an Indian language, and Hinduism is a religion.  Ahisma, or non-violence, is a fundamental principle in most branches of Hinduism.  This principle is applied to the care of animals, and so most people who practice Hinduism are vegetarian.  One exception to this rule are Shaivite Hindus that allow meat consumption.

M: You must mean Hindu people. Hindi is a language—in fact, India’s most common language. So yes, I was raised in a Hindu family. Even though I am not that religious anymore, I never really found a reason to start eating meat. It has become a part of how I live.
