Day Stay for Adults is a non-profit organization providing daytime health care and social services for Denton County adults who are chronically ill or impaired. The program is designed to restore or maintain independence while providing support and relief for family caregivers. Day Stay for Adults was formed by community-minded citizens representing health-care providers, the government, churches, industries, civic groups, and universities in the Denton area in order to develop a licensed, and Medicaid contracted adult day care program. Day Stay for Adults is the only program in Denton County designed to provide daytime respite for family caregivers who are responsible for 24-hour care and need a break from the daily routines of care-giving. The agency provides cost-effective and compassionate daytime healthcare and socialization delivered by professional healthcare workers to prevent expensive premature institutionalization.
