You can only burn Blu-ray movies on your laptop if the optical drive has Blu-ray burning capabilities. Check the front of the drive cover to see if it reads something along the lines of "BD-R" or "Super Multi Drive Blue." You will need to buy blank Blu-ray media and have a Blu-ray video disc authoring program in order to burn your home movies to Blu-ray. You can not burn commercially released Blu-ray movies to a blank disc, due to the fact that the discs are copy protected and making a copy is illegal.
