ARE PEOPLE SAFE FROM PET FOOD SCARE?
This article discusses findings of a study conducted by scientists from several federal agencies in the U.S., which revealed the low risk to human health from consuming meat from hogs and chickens known to have been fed animal feed supplemented with pet food scraps. These scraps contained melamine and melamine-related compounds. Higher exposure levels cause the formation of crystals in the kidney systems.
