What are “period antiques”?
When something is referred to as a ‘period antique’ it means it is ‘of the period,’ not a reproduction of the piece from a later time in history. It must be authentic to the time and the era it was created. For example, you may see a 19th century Louis XV ‘style’ chair but it would still be a copy (a reproduction) of the 18th century original and so would not be considered a ‘period antique.
