Do Seventh-Day Adventists believe in hell?

0

In Ecclesiastes 9:5, the English Standard version bible states that "For the living know that they will die, but the dead know nothing, and they have no more reward, for the memory of them is forgotten." This passage is interpreted by Seventh-day Adventists that the dead are simply dead and are not conscious until the final resurrection during the apocalypse.

Rather than the wicked being sent to a hell in the end times, Seventh-day Adventists believe that instead it will be an oblivion of non-existence that will be the punishment of the wicked. There is no hell currently in existence under the Seventh-day Adventist belief.

Seventh-day Adventists believe in annihilationism. This means that the wicked, after the millenium, will be consumed by fire and eventually cease to exist. They do not believe that the wicked will be eternally burned by fire forever in a “place” called hell.
