What does a refinery cost?
We have grouped costs into 11 categories: 1. Technology licensing and exclusivity costs. 2. Land costs. 3. Engineering 4. On site civil engineering costs. 5. Tank farm costs. 6. Process battery equipment (i.e. the process plant). 7. Assembly 8. Lab equipment 9. Training 10. Start up costs 11. Other owner’s costs: e.g. permits, financing, supervision. Based on the five 24,000 gallon/day refineries we have built, excluding land and infrastructure costs, total costs have been approximately 13-15 million dollars. Your costs will vary depending on what infrastructure is already available at your site. We help our customers analyze potential costs to help keep them as competitive as possible. This includes comparing local costs of equipment and labor with those Interline can provide in the U.S. We suggest adding a blending facility to the refinery operation to utilize the produced base oil into lubricants, thereby vertically integrating the entire operation.
