Who will provide the hauling service?
Blue Diamond Disposal, a waste collection firm based in Mount Arlington, NJ has submitted the low bid to provide the service. They are a local company and currently serve Byram, Green, Jefferson, Randolph and others. Can the new Waste Utility be altered in some way? A group of residents are currently circulating a petition that, if successful, would suspend the ordinance and require that it be subject to referendum. The Township Council has delayed signing the contract with the contractor until it can be determined if sufficient signatures are collected. If the required number of signatures are collected and the petition is certified by the Municipal Clerk a special referendum election will be scheduled for early March. In the event a special election is required, commencement of the new service will be held pending the outcome of the election. When will service begin?
