Who are Tibetan Monks?

0

Tibetan monks spend years and years learning as much as they can about the religion of Tibetan Buddhism. They live in monasteries and usually start their studies when they are very young. A long time ago there used to be lots and lots of monks and nuns in Tibet because Tibetans believe that it is a very noble thing to study Buddhism for the rest of your life. The Chinese government doesn’t like the monks and nuns because the monks and nuns are not afraid to say that they want to keep studying. They are also not afraid to protest in public to say that the Chinese rules are very unfair and unkind to the Tibetans. So this is why the Chinese soldiers close the monasteries down sometimes and tell the monks and nuns to go away.
