How does MECP keep track of so many certifications?
MECP has a new electronic database that allows all test participants have a unique MECP certification profile. This is useful for checking to see the status of your certificate and when it expires, for reviewing your scores, and especially for updating your contact and employment information so that MECP continues to be able to provide the industry with accurate information about certification status of MECP certified installation technicians and sales professionals. In early 2007, MECP did a massive conversion of the data from paper testing days into the current database. Now, whether you have taken a computer based exam or a paper exam, you have a record in this database. It does not matter if your result was a pass or fail, it’s 99% sure you are in there!
