Are Ukrainian airlines ok?
Both airlines are safe to fly. I personally avoid Aeroflot and I prefer Ukrainian International Airlines. The service is good, and the planes are almost always Boeing or McD-Douglas. Even if you pick an American airline you will have a good chance of flying into Kyiv on a partner airline. (Northwest partners with KLM, who partners with Ukrainian International – all Skyteam airlines, just like Delta – Even a Delta flight often uses Aeroflot for the transatlantic flight from NY to Kyiv.) The only other comment I will make is that you will get much better food, drinks, and service on a Ukrainian or European airline than an American one. If you don’t want to fly Aerosvit or UIA, fly an airline like Lufthansa.
