Was the disciple Peter hot tempered?
The Bible doesn’t specifically say, “Peter was hot tempered”. However, in viewing his behavior, it is a conclusion that can be drawn. For example, see John 18:10: Then Simon Peter, who had a sword, drew it and struck the high priest’s servant, cutting off his right ear. The servant’s name was Malchus. I believe the new name you’re referring to is Cephas. This is found in John 1: 14, where Jesus says to Peter, You are Simon the son of Jonah. You shall be called Cephas (which is translated, A Stone). What’s great about Peter is that he comes across as so human, imperfect and struggling. He’s a man who sometimes blunders, yet he continues his efforts to serve God. It kind of gives hope to the rest of us, I think.
