OK, I’m going to give you a NON-BIAS answer. I’m officially independent and am not as fond of the Lebanese Forces as I used to be, but I will give you the fact. The Lebanese Forces were a militia, made up primarily of Christians. It received support mainly from Maronites and minorities of Greek Catholics and Greek Orthodox Christians. In its early stages, a very small number of Muslim fighters existed, too. Bachir Gemayel, a hero to the vast majority of Lebanese Christians, was the first leader of the Lebanese Forces. He received assistance from Israel and he was labeled a traitor by a lot of Muslims for that. Hypocritically, the same people who call Bachir a traitor are the people who want Syria in our country. Bachir may have been pro-Israel, but the only reason why he accepted help from them was because Israel was the only country willing to help out Lebanese Christians.
