Will boar goat kiko goat mixed sell good?
Kikos tend to be bigger than boers, aren’t they? I’d think that for meat purposes, crossing a kiko doe to a boer buck would probably give you a solid, meaty animal if that’s what you’re going for. For any crossbreeding purposes, always make sure you are breeding a smaller breed buck to a larger breed doe, or you risk having kids that the doe can’t deliver safely. From what I’ve read, kikos are the fastest growing of meat goats and are also hardier than boers. They are genetically able to gain significant weight with little or no grain supplements. And for general selling purposes, rarer breeds such as the kiko will net a better price than a more common boer. If you intend to sell kids for profit to other breeders, it is worthwhile to invest in pedigreed stock with proven bloodlines and work on some pedigreed stock.
