I totally agree with you. It’s solely for the entertainment value. Idiots that watch that show just think, yay, they’re going to stop the evil whale hunters by throwing smoke bombs and acting like the Japanese are attacking their fleet. It’s bull. I don’t like the idea of whale hunting, but what the people on that show are doing is useless and only encourages violence. Spend the money elsewhere.
The Sea Shepherd Conservation Society is funded by private and corporate donations. People should be free to donate to any cause they want, even if they are misguided and supporting something like the sea shepherds. The point of Whale Wars is to get people to watch Animal Planet so they can sell more advertising. That is the purpose of any TV show, selling ads and making a profit.
