What is meant by the Seal of Confession?

0

The “Seal of Confession” is a Catholic concept that assures COMPLETE confidence that what’s disclosed to one’s confessor is CONFIDENTIAL and kept in COMPLETE CONFIDENCE, beyond the reach of even the law. HOWEVER, the confessor must follow their conscience if others may be injured by their failure to disclose the information though its source may be kept secret. Statutes also provide for this concept that members of ANY religion may confide intimate facts in their religious leaders without the threat of supoena or other invasion and the religious/spiritual leader remains safe.

Since wht you confess you actually confess it to God through the priest, the priest has no rigt to reveal it to anyone even under danger of death, many priests have died to protect the confidentiality of confession
